Topazio Antique Handcrafted GP Sterling Filigree Enamel Brooches. Created in Oporto, Portugal during the early 20th century by skilled silversmiths. The designs, in addition to filigree floral decorations included ethnic figures of people in national costumes. Topazio brooches are reminiscent of the 18th-19th centuries jewelry called Indo-Portuguese filigree. Introduced by mariners coming from China in the 16th and 17th centuries, Portuguese artisans perfected the technique and added enamel, precious stones and pearls to these pieces. The brooch with the female is 2 in diameter. Note-there is a bead missing from the frame. The peacock brooch is 1.5 in diameter. EB8318
