Ecanada
Vintage Retired *Ecanda Pottery Vase - Pinky-Mauve Near Matte Low Sheen Vase with Cream & Gold Enhanced Cameo Raised Neo-Classical Style Floral Detailing in the style of *Wedgewood Jasperware Small, Lovely Cabinet Sized Vase Ecanada pottery was produced but a few short years from 1949-1952. I seldom come across an example in the fine condition this piece is in. There are no cracks, chips, hairlines or repairs. Sourced from a very nice estate, it appears to have been very well cared for. No absorbed odor or stains, no evidence of use as a water or flower vessel. A petite vase, it measures right at 4-5/8 inches tall and approximately 4-1/8 inches wide across the most bulbous area - the perfect shelf or cabinet size! *ECANADA was a pottery founded in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in the 1920's by an English immigrant named George Emery Sr. (1881-1959). Emery had worked at the Wedgwood Pottery in England for 14 years before moving to Canada in 1912. His Wedgewood Jasperware inspiration with the cameo application of texture to the matte pottery pieces he produced is quite apparent. The Ecanada Pottery was turned over to George Emery Jr., in 1949 and closed in 1952.
